AN ANALYSIS INTO THE IMPACT OF STANDARDS ON THE OPERATION OF SLOVENIAN COMPANIES
6 Conclusions and Recommendations
1.
The research confirms the findings of related European research to the effect
that standards have positive effects on the operation of companies.
2.
In Slovenia, standards promote innovation, increase enterprise competitiveness,
enable better cooperation within supplier chain and provide for a better
control of risks.
3.
The research also notes that companies have little knowledge of the
standards development process, of the impact of standards and of the
positive effects that participation in standardization brings to companies.
4.
The most outstanding among the main assignments of SIST is its role in
promoting active participation of companies in standardization procedures
and raising the awareness of companies and other stakeholders of the
benefits of standardization.
Only through reasonably designed cooperation between the State, SIST
and other research and educational institutes and companies, the Slovenian
economy will be able to utilize all positive effects of standardization in order
to create competitive advantages.
5.
Competitive advantages are offered to the Slovenian economy particularly
in the newly developing fields of standardization, especially with the
development of cyber security standards, new digital (blockchain)
technologies, biotechnology of sustainable development, and transition
