5.2 Slovenian standardization, positioning of Slovenian Institute for
Standardization and opportunities for strengthening its role
The results of the questionnaire confirm that standardization plays a positive
role in the Slovenian economy (see Chart 7). As regards the claim that
standardization has caused an increased concentration of companies on the
market, the opinions from the companies are neutral, while the respondents
assess positively that standardization has enabled Slovenian companies to
enter new geographic markets and had a positive impact on companies’ market
share. Likewise, the companies assess positively that standardization has set
the criteria for differentiation of products and services, and at the same time
increased the diversity of goods and services, while it has nevertheless not
prevented price wars.
