According to the interviewees, the role of SIST is to preserve the language and
to follow international and European standardization, and at the same time act
as information hub and auditor of mandatory standards. The interviewees also
pointed out that SIST should improve its notification systems, especially for raising
the awareness of companies. Also information on new editions of standards could
be useful, while there is also a lack of knowledge in Slovenian companies on the
role and importance of standardization in the operations of companies.

Greater awareness would contribute to a more active international participation
of Slovenian companies. It is of key importance for SIST to include and liaise all
the stakeholders: the state, the academic sphere, and the industry. The number
of memberships is also a great potential for SIST. At present, only 21 per cent of
respondents are members of SIST.

Chart 14 and Table 5 clearly show and note that there is still a lot of space
for improvement, especially in the area of information. Attention should be
drawn to statistically significant differences between the groups (One-Way
ANOVA Test, P=0.010, N=186). The greatest differences appear between micro
enterprises (interval = [2.86; 3.54]) and large enterprises (interval = [3.34;
3.84]), with larger enterprises demonstrating a higher degree of information.
However, the t-test does not confirm these differences between individual
groups.
